John R. Hall

John has been described as a contrarian, a provocateur, and a polemicist. With the dexterity of a master magician, John's writing style forces readers to reexamine their positions and opinions on society, politics, and lifestyles. In his book, Red, White, and the Blues: A Long and Hard Ride over Treacherous Terrain, John interweaves a narrative of a life lived in constant motion while taking the reader along on his 2011 coast-to-coast motorcycle ride across North America.

John founded HuntingForThompson.com (a writers blog) where he publishes engaging and scathing essays on wide-ranging subjects. While attending City College in San Diego, California, John studied journalism, communications, psychology, and the dramatic arts. He's been a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and an engaged observer of life through his many occupations: magician, IT/IS specialist, soldier, traveling street performer, cab driver, long-haul trucker, and oil field worker are but a few of John's endeavors.

Despite being diagnosed with dyslexia, John always envisioned himself to be a writer-in-waiting. In 2016 he began blogging, and in 2020 he fulfilled his most earnest and long-sought desire of writing a book.

Red, White, and the Blues: A Long and Hard Ride over Treacherous Terrain is available from Amazon and Barns & Noble.
